Biochem question best answer ten points!?

I would have to guess that the enzyme alcohol dehydrogenase would bind ethanol over methanol due to an R-group preference. The active site of the enzyme would be structured so that the R group of ethanol would bind much easier over that of methanol. The "R-group" being whichever amino acid is binding.
