FN key not working after OS Reinstall?

My computer just crashed, so I had to reinstall Windows Vista on it. When I tried to lower and raise the volume by pressing FN+F10 or FN+F11, nothing happened. However, when I do FN+Num. Lk. to go into scroll lock, it works perfectly. Help!
