Windows update KB954430 keeps reappearing..ive download it but it immediately wants me 2 do same again+again?

must of done this 10 times day after day..having installed the update the windows icon in the bottom left of my screen should disappear signifying the update is installed..however the icon doesn't move and when i double click it i get the same message to install the update. don't want to risk turning off auto updates as this would potentially leave my computer open to virus's etc any ideas? thanks
