Do you agree that mitt romney being mormon will?
Yes. From what I hear on the news, it seems to be getting in the way. By the way, didn't everyone know he was a Mormon before? Why does this seem to be new news? It's like the media had a slow news day, and needed to come up with something to stir the pot. As to your comment about the fact that it's sad about our country being devoutly religious and seemingly more interested in religion than gender or race...I've got one thing to say about that statement (and it may be more than a mouthful). This country was built on people with a strong belief in God. They came here to worship without hindrance. They had a strong moral code (most of which is sadly lacking in our current society). Because of the loose morals of a former president, many have lost the last thread of respect they had for any government officials. And many think it's okay for a president to do whatever he/she wants as long as no one got hurt. Because of the lack of moral character, that hurts everyone. That hurts the whole country. What a person believes IS more important that gender or race. If you've got no foundation to stand on, your house of cards will come crashing down. You'll be tossed about by every change of the wind, flip-flopping on things that you once professed to be true. In fact, you can tell a lot about a person just by listening to their conversation. A person's faith is important because it links them to something higher than themselves. It gives them an anchor that keeps them stable. It makes them accountable for their actions. And if it doesn't do that, then something is wrong in their lives. That's why so many people are down on organized religion. Because those who say they have faith don't act like it. I truly believe that it was the faith of our forefathers that built this nation into the place that it is. And it's the lack of that same faith that will bring it down. That's why things are going downhill the past several years, my friend. People that say they have faith aren't practicing it in their daily lives. Okay, I'm getting long-winded. Sorry. This happens to be a very important thing to me. I don't normally get involved in politics. But I do defend the faith. While I don't know a lot about Mormons, or many of the other religions around our country, I do know that many of the other faiths have a moral code that they teach. Whether or not Mr. Romney will make a good president will remain to be seen in the coming months. One last thing...what does gender or race have to do with religion or anything else? We are what we are. I tend to look more at a person's character than who or what they are. It's more revealing. <*)))><
